We've Had a Productive Weekend!

Dad got back from Washington on Friday evening.  Saturday we got to work and had a busy and productive day.

The seedlings that I started last weekend sprouted, and they were growing tall and spindly.  We desparately needed to get them under a grow light, so Dad picked up a shop light in Albuquerque while he was there, and here is is making a rack to hang the light on.  We read that we needed to keep the light as close to the plants as we could without the light actually touching the plant.  With this rack, we can raise the lights as the plants grow.  I think that next to duct tape and baling wire, PVC is probably Doug's next favorite thing to work with!

We have it set up by the green room window.

Another view.

These are the tomato seedlings sstarting to grow.

These are the jalapenos, yellow hots and bell peppers.

We also put up our year's supply of corned beef.  It's on sale for St. Patrick's Day right now, and it's a whole lot cheaper to bottle our own than it is to buy it  already canned (not to mention it tastes very delicious this way)!

We thought that today sounded like it would be a good ravioli day.

We were right.  It was!
