The Payson, Utah Temple Open House

We ordered tickets for the Payson Temple Open House on the day they became available.  The dad set up the computer to order tickets before we went to bed the night before, so that if one of us woke up to go to the bathroom in the night, we could check to see if ticket ordering had begun.  I got up early, and went to check tickets.  They were available, so I ordered them.

The next day on the Deseret News facebook page, there was an article about how all the tickets were gone already, and that "one woman even got up at 2:00 to order tickets."  I think that may have been me!

Amy Done Gradiated!

Our baby girl has officially graduated with her BA in Elementary Education from BYU.  Actually, she finished in December.  She has her diploma AND A JOB!  So she felt kind of silly going through the whole commencement thing.  But she did it for us!  We were fine with not actually going to the convocation, though.  Here's our newest graduate!

Our Baby Girl!

This is by the library where Amy worked.  She said she washed those windows MANY times!

It's all about the flowers!

By the McKay Building where she had bunches of classes.

By the McKay Building where I, too, had bunches of classes.

The Teaching Legacy lives on!

By a ginko tree!

Every graduate needs a picture by the beloved? Banyan Tree.

There's Amy's name in the program.  (If anyone can tell me how to turn the picture the right direction, I'd sure love to know.)

More Adventures in Provo!

We had a few other adventures while we were in Provo.  This is our vacation this year, so we wanted to make the most of it!

Checking out the progress on the Provo City Center Temple.

The dad put a basket on my bike.  Now I will be able to ride it to school!

Fixing a flat.

We had a picnic at the park where we started our bike ride.  I don't even know the name of the park.

We rode about 5 miles up and five miles back on the Provo Riverwalk Trail starting at a park somewhere on 800 N.

We found these friends along the way.

We spent a whole day with Amy just doing stuff.  She didn't feel very well that day, so I'm not sure she enjoyed the stuff, but we sure loved having her with us.  We went to a couple of  really great thrift stores in American Fork, and we found a nice nursery!  I got the dianthus, and Amy got the coleus!

We had lunch at Chuck-a-Rama with Aunt Mary.

Afterwards, we went to her house, and she showed us some of my grandma's (Beatrice Maeser Mitchell) handiwork.  This is her wedding gown.  She made it herself 101 years ago!

This is a picture of my grandma wearing that wedding gown 65 years later.  When I think of my grandma, this is exactly how I remember her.  She loved to sit in her rocking chair by her big front window and look out at the world!  I miss her.

This is a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that she made.  My mom had one, too.  I will give it to one of my children when they have a home to keep it in!

These are handkerchiefs and doilies that my grandma crocheted and tatted.

This is how the dad enjoyed the visit at Mary's place.

This is in Amy's apartment.  She showed us some big pattern blocks she had made.  They were wonderful!  I love those things!  Good job, Amy!  She also made some Cuisinaire rods, but I didn't get a picture of those.

Steven and Angela with a blaket made for their baby by Susan!

We all rode bikes over to the cemetery to visit my grandparents' and  Irene's grave.

Grandma and Grandpa

Irene.  I sure do love and miss that woman.

We made ice cream sundaes and ate them outside when we got back!
