December - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I love December.  I love Christmas.  I love everything about it.  I love that the Chritmas season lasts the whole month long.  I don't love when it's over and bleak January creeps in.  I'll just sit here and enjoy December all over again as I look at pictures and do this month's blog!

I got a new phone, and in transfering pictures over, I got all the pictures blended in to one big, unorganized mess, so rather than take the time to put things in chronological order, it's here in one big hodge podge.

Steve, Angela and their kids came for the weeks before and after Christmas.  Brian, Chelsea and their kids came over Christmas Day, and went home a couple of days later on Monday evening.  Carol and Mark came over in the afternoon on Christmas Day, and went home later that evening.

Micah got this puzzle for Christmas.  The boys all put it together!

Emily and Erika love each other.

Christmas edition of the wrapping paper game!

Brian and Chelsea helped us have an adventure from their family adventure book that Brian gave Cheseal for Christmas.  We made ice cream in Ziplock bags by shaking half-and-half, milk and sugar up in a bag inside a bag of ice and salt.  Then we all put sprinkles in our ice cream.

Emily on her sleeping bag from the grandad and me!

We did a Zoom Nativity all together for the Family Home Evening before Christmas.

Emily wanted to win!

Emily and Erika had matchy dresses for Church on Sunday.

Steve shoveled most of the snow storm off the driveway when he found out we had a snow blower!

Myers gave us this 1000 piece puzzle.  It took a good portion of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to finish it.  The dad and Angela did most of it.

New Year's Eve Eve is tamale day!

We had "Twos" Day the Tuesday before Winter Break.  Michelle and I were clearly the cutest!  This picture wound up on the district website.  (Michelle and I used to be the same height.)

Grandad had all the kids out breaking dirt clods with croquet mallets.

This was actually Thanksgiving, I think.

Micah and David were also matchy-matchy.

Eli got to open is rain boots a day early just in time for the rain!

I think this was Thanksgiving, too.

We made creme brulee in the sous vide.

Making the fruit cake!

Musical Mayhem Part 2.

Santa dropped in for a visit!

We had a fire going in the fireplace all day long for two weeks!

Steve's family arrived in Gallup on Erika's birthday.  Our girl is three!

We met Susan and Christian in Flagstaff for a quick holiday trip.  We spent the night in a hotel, then we went hiking and out to lunch before heading back to our respective homes.

Making a snowman in our first snowstorm!

Our neighbor's dogs killed all our chickens and tore up the chicken coop.  The neighbor called us (we were on a temple weekend in Albuquerque) to tell us about the incident.  Then his family cleaned up the back yard and bought us some new chickens.

Latkahs for Hannakuh

I am on the focus group that is working on designing our new school building.  The architectural firm that is doing our building took us to Farmington to see Northeast Elementary, another building they built.  I got to go in David's class and see him in his element!

That is our mish mash of pictures for Decmeber.  Now I am going to order my Blog Book for this year!
