I love General Conference Weekends. They are some of my favorite times of the year. Last April at Conference time, we found out that we would be grandparents of not only one beautiful baby, but two! This year, we got to spend Conference Weekend with one of those beautiful babies, and his parents!
| When the dad and I got home from picking up Amy's car at the body shop, look what we found at our house! What a happy day! |
| Grandbabies really are the greatest! |
| David is wearing his daddy's outfit! |
| David ate his first Gerber Oatmeal this weekend. He seemed to like it, but he didn't get the hang of actually opening his mouth up for it. |
| I stuck the spoon in his closed lips, and he kind of sucked it out of the spoon. With his unique style of eating, he at probably a full quarter cup of oatmeal! Pretty good for a first shot at it! |
| Quiet time with Grandad! |
| I didn't get much quilting done during Conference this year. I got to do something even better! |
| Chelsea has been working on this cross stitch every time they've been here for Conference the past three or four years. She finally finished it this year! |
| The dad put nuts, etc. into air tight containers. |
| Brian filled snack bags for my class. David helped. |
| David and Grandad loved playing together! |
| Yep! He's a real Decker baby. He goes for the ends of the bolo tie! |
| Grandad has the magic touch in getting David settled down to sleep. (Grandma's still working on it.) |
| Brian made me some more potholders during some of the sessions. David was Daddy's big helper! |
| The made me five new potholders, and two for Brian and Chelsea! |
| He doesn't slow down to cuddle very often. I have to take it when I can get it! |
| During one session, David helped us start the tomato and pepper seeds for our garden. |
| There. Now all they need to do is grow. |
| Sleepy baby! |
| We tossed washers between sessions. The dad finished up the Washoo game he made for Christmas! |
| I actually didn't do too poorly! |
| Three generations of washer tossers/eaters. |
| Do you know how hard it is to get a good picture in a moving swing? |
| I'll bet I took 20 or 30. |
| You can only actually see him in two or three! |
| I added some more pictures later, and those pictures had their own ideas about where they wanted to be in the blog. This is one section. When the men-folk went to the Priesthood Session, Chelsea and I started Ladies' Night! We found a soothing foot-soak on Pinterest. Don't our feet look ever-so-much-more soft and supple? |
| We bought the makings for Italian (pronounced eye-tal-yun) sodas to have after the Priesthood Session, but Chelsea and I decided to sneak a quick taste while the men were gone. |
| Okay, we snuck four or five of them. |
| They really are non-alcoholic! |
| Mercy, we are attractive! |
| Off to the Priesthood |
| Skyping with Micah and Angela! |
We cooked ribs for dinner on Saturday, and knocked off another cookbook in our quest to use them all!
| Brian and the dad made a broccoli casserole in the Wonder Oven. |
| David helped with the cole slaw. He was trying to eat the bowl. |
| It was all I could do to keep from dropping the book, the slaw, and the baby! |
| Victory! |
| For Sunday dinner, we made Steamed Salmon from the Legal Sea Food Company of Boston Cookbook. |
