The Dad Goes to Atlanta!

This year, the SHERM Conference was held in Atlanta.  Doug spent five days in Atlanta near the end of June this year.  He spent most of his hours there in Human Resources training, but he did find time to do a little sight seeing in the off hours.
Doug went a day early so he would be able to go to the temple in Atlanta.

He said the temple is beautiful.

There were lots of warm-weather flowers all around the grounds.

The Atlanta skyline.

This is the chapel where he went to church on Sunday.

Jerry Seinfeld performed at the SHERM Conference.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is in Atlanta.

This is the home where Martin Luther King, Jr. was born and lived for the first 12 years of his life.  In order to go in the home, you need a ticket.  All the tickets were taken when he got there, but someone turned in a ticket at the desk at the last minute, so he was able to go in.

Doug was able to attend an Atlanta Braves game.

Doug said the Braves fans are some of the most dedicated of all the baseball fans that he's seen.
