Albuquerque Adventure Weekend!

"1776"finally came to Albuqerque!  We got tickets for last night's performance!  We decided to make a weekend out of it since we aren't really taking any big family vacation this summer.  We went to the temple with Brian and Clelsea on Friday night, then Susan, Doug and I stayed overnight in a hotel.

On Saturday morning, we took the Sandia Park Tram up to the top of the Sandia Mountains.  Then we hiked over to the Sandia Crest and back from the top of the tram.  It was about a 3 1/2 mile hike round trip.  After that, we took the ski-lift down the mountain.  Ate a picnic lunch, then took the ski-lift back up the mountain.  It was 1 1/2 miles each way.  After that, we took the tram back down the mountain!  After that, Brian and Chelsea went home to fix dinner, and we went to Costco, the back to the hotel for a nap!

After a delicious dinner of Papa Murphy's You-Bake-It Pizza, we went to the Rhody Theater at Popejoy to see "1776."  This wasn't a traveling Broadway production.  It was a local group, but, it was very well done.  It was exciting to actually see it done on the stage!

Because the play got out so late, we stayed another night at the hotel.  We went to Sacrament Meeting at the Haines Ward (Brian's and Chelsea's ward), then we hit the road and came home.  Our adventure was over.
