On to Las Vegas!

After our stay in Prescott, we went straight up to Las Vegas to help Susan move, and to spend some time with her.  She had everything all packed up and in the garage when we got there, so the whole moving thing didn't take much time at all!
Of course on the way to Las Vegas, we stopped and picked up another cache.

The Las Vegas Temple was closed for cleaning, repairs, recarpeting, etc., so we drove over to St. George and did a sealing session.  Susan found LOTS of family names.  We were able to do sealings for 25 daughters to parents, and 10 couples there.  (Note:  This past Saturday, Aug. 5, was our temple shift.  The evening before our shift, we took the names of 20 sons and had them sealed to their parents.  On a few of the names especially, I felt the Spirit very strongly, and I couldn't hold those tears back.)  We are grateful to Susan for hunting and finding these relatives!

We had a great day together!  The two hour drive each way seemed to whiz by!  It was great having Susan with us again!
That night, the dad and I went to see Marvel Universe Live at the UNLV stadium.  We saw a blurb about it on the morning news while we were eating breakfast.  It sounded hokey, but fun, so we decided to go that evening.  Susan had her Praxis the next day, so she went home to get a good night's sleep.

It was great--fast paced, well-choreographed, and a lot of fun!

It wasn't hokey at all.  In fact, the whole time we were there, the dad kept saying he wished we had Susan with us.  She would have loved it!

(Chelsea, this is a piccture of Spiderman for you.)

"Avengers, assemble!)

The next day while Susan was taking the Praxis, we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris on the strip.

Susan gave us one free ticket that she got when she went to see "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," being recorded.  We bought the other ticket.

From the pictures, you can't really tell how high up it goes.

It's exactly half the size of the real Eiffel Tower in France.

So this was the dad's 57th birthday.  For his birthday, he wanted to eat at a restaurant in the Hard Rock Casino that we saw on Food Network.  However, he decided he would rather take Susan to the afternoon performance of Marvel Universe Live than eat at Mr. Lucky's.  We went to a supermarket and bought sub sandwiches and a piece of German Chocolate Cake for his birthday cake.  We ate it in Planet Hollywood!

We happened to be in the right place at the right time when the fountains at the Bellagio did their thing!

We walked through the indoor gardens at the Bellagio!

They werre gorgeous!

President Trump just happened to be in town while we were there, and it was the perfect photo op!
Here we are back at the Thomas and Mack Center at UNLV for Marvel Universe Live again!

We were right, Susan did love it!  (Spiderman would swing out over the audience, but I clicked as he swang back onto the stage.)

We bought Susan a souvenier Marvel Coloring Book!  (Good news!  We bought one for all of you!)

Here we are looking at flamingos at the Flamingo right before the Donny and Marie show.

Susan, Marie and Donny!

When we got home from Las Vegas, we found our first squash of the year ready to eat...

...so the dad cooked it, and we ate it!
