Our Miracle!

When we pray for safety on trips, it's not just a formality to the Lord.  He hears and answers those prayers.  And as you know, often those prayers are answered through other people.  Well, for us, that was the case.

After Sacrament Meeting in Mesa, Amy took off for Phoenix, and the dad and I headed toward home.  When we were between Mesa and Payson , a Hispanic man in a small sedan drove up beside us, and he kept signalling to us.  We thought maybe he wanted us to pull over, which seemed strange, but we did.  The dad got out and asked him what the matter was.  He told us that he noticed that the bolt had come off the ball on our our trailor hitch.

I have no idea how he noticed that the bold had come off, or how he could even see it in passing, but he did.  Fortunately, the dad had an extra ball with a bolt on it.  He also had his tool box because he used it to disassembe and assemble furniture.   So he had the tools he needed to tighten the bolt down.  It was a simple quick fix, but without our guardian angel stopping us, we more than likely would have lost the trailor in the windy canyons were were entering, and the whipping of the trailor would have more than likely taken us down the canyon as well.

While the dad was getting the tools, the gentleman, in somewhat broken English, said it looked like we were dressed for church.  I said that we had gone to church in Mesa, and now we were headed for home.  He asked what church we belonged to.  I told him, and he smiled and said, "Me, too!"

We will forever be grateful that he was listening to the Holy Ghost when he checked our hitch as he was driving by.  We truly were protected!

This is the bolt that fell off.

As we drove down the highway after that, we tried looking at other folks' hitches to see if we could tell if their bolts were on, and frankly, while driving, it was almost impossible to see.  It truly was a miracle!
