Moving Amy to Phoenix!

On Friday night, the adventure began!  Michelle Clement's son, Brayden, recieved his endowment at the Gilbert Temple on Saturday, so Michelle had a family dinner for him on Friday night at a church building in Gilbert.  The dad had a settlement conference in Albuquerque on Friday until late afternoon, so we weren't able to go to that, but we fully planned to attend the temple with them on Saturday.  Brian and Chelsea came down from Farmington, and Amy drove in tandem with them to the dinner.

The dad got home around 6:30 pm, and we took off for Phoenix then, pulling a U-Haul trailor for the stuff we needed to move.  We met Brian, Chelsea and Amy in Phoenix, and spent the night at a hotel.  Bright and early Saturday morning, we went to Auntie Jo and Uncle Al's house.  They are moving from their home into an independent living seniors place, and they wanted us to take as much of their furniture and other stuff as we could.

It was a huge blessing for us and them that Amy was moving and needed just the furniture that they wanted to get rid of.  (We actually wound up taking a bedroom set and a dining room set for Amy, and lots of other stuff besides.)

It was HOT there.  The car thermometer said the outside temperature was 106-107.  I believe it.

I worked on the binding of a Quilts of Valor quilt in the car.  I really like binding quilts.  I find it relaxing.  It also makes the time in the car seem to go by faster.

We took a break after dropping a load off at Amy's place and went to see the Phoenix Temple.  By this time, it was clear that there was no way we were going to get to Brayden's Endowment Session on time.  At least we would have some kind of a temple experience!

Remember the temperature?

We had a sandwich at Jo's and Al's place, then it was back to work!

Too bad you can't see hot and stinky in pictures, was we were.

Gallup or Bust!  This is a patio set.  We wound up giving it to Carlene's son rather than hauling it home.  Our storage unit just plain isn't big enough to hold all that we took.  Again, too bad the picture can't capture hot and sweaty.  The dad and Brian worked their toots off in that blazing sun.  But they got it all loaded, and we got Amy all moved in!

Here is Amy's room!

Another shot of Amy's room.  So many pillows.  It looks great!
