Off to Mesa!

We decided to pop down to Mesa this weekend to see Papa and Carlene.  We went down for Andy's wedding, but we really didn't get to spend much time with Papa.  (Carlene was in California for her grandson's boot camp graduation, so we really didn't see her.)  We've had something every weekend for weeks that has kept us from going down.  So we just made arrangements for our callings and went.  It was good to see them.  If we would have waited much longer, it would have been so hot that we would have melted.

We went to the 6:00 am session at the Gilbert Temple.  It's a beautiful temple.  There is an agave theme throughout the temple.  You can see the agave plant in the glass on the doors.

Carlene and Papa

The Gilbert Temple is about a half-hour drive from Papa's house.

Don't you love my shadow there at the bottom!?!

We went downtown and looked through a few antique shops.  We decided to stop and read for awhile!

Batter-up!

Later on in the afternoon, we picked up Susan and took her out to the Gilbert Temple.  We are in front of the water feature.

The flowers were gorgeous!

When we go to Mesa, we plan on still going to the Mesa Temple, but we are glad we had the opportunity to do a session in Gilbert!

Papa grew this Kohlrabi.  It was delicious--not pithy at all!

Picking grapefruit--it's what we do in Mesa!

We went with Carlene and her sister to the Women's Broadcast.  It was nice!
