Yesterday was a busy day!

It's been awhile since I've posted.  I haven't really done anything "postworthy"-- just the regular day-to-day stuff.  But I figured I better look for something I could possible post about, other than vacuuming, teaching, washing dishes...

A guy at the County named John Goins asked Doug to teach him how to can stuff.  Yesterday he came over with a dozen jars and a bunch of chicken, and we taught him how to can chicken.  While we were at it, we did up several pounds of pork loin roast that we had in the freezer.  We also did some beans.  Beans are sure nice to have on hand for a quick meal.

While we were waiting for the pressure cookers to do their things, he said he heard some people actually ground their own wheat and made all their own bread.  Did we do that, and if we did, could we teach him.  We could, and we did.  By the time he left, he was all pshyced up to start doing some of the things we do.  I hope he at least tries some of them.

While we were waiting for the pressure cookers to cook, I finished the binding on one of these baby quilts.  These two quilts were made from the scraps of the tote bags in the tote bag classs a few weeks ago.  The colors all look good together.

The quilt on the left is all done.  The quilt on the right needs to have the binding finished.

Last night a man named Larry Winn was baptized.  He asked your dad to baptize him.  He is the head of Connections, and has worked with your dad for years.  They have become quite friendly through the years.  Brett and Samantha Corbridge came down for the baptism.  Do you remember them?  Larry was Brett's mentor when he first started counseling out at Bread Springs School several years ago.  He also planted the seeds that grew into a beautiful testimony that has grown to fruition during all those past years. It was good to see them again.

After the baptism, Larry bore his testimony, and it sounded like he has been a member of the Church all his life.
