February 2022

Another February has come and gone!  I just put in all the pictures, and they showed up exactly backwards from the way I meant for them to come in.  We got a sum total of 4 pictures of grandkids this month, so I included them in this post.

Here is Calvin with his truck valentines from Grandma and Grandad!

They make cool stickers!

Awww!  Nothing as cute as sleeping babies!

On our quest to use a recipe a week from the different 101 Recipe Books, we made a Lemon Strawberry Dressing for our Lemon Strawberry Salad.

Pumpkin Cocoa.  It was actually pretty good!

This is when the backwards pictures matter.  We went to Mesa, and the Phoenix over Presidents' Day.  On our way home, we found this geocache near Cave Creek!

Cave Creek had a cute little pioneer village.  We went there to get some Udder Delight Goat Soap and Lotion!

We had flourless brownies for my birthday at Amy's and Cody's house!

It has always take Calvin a few days to warm up to us enough for him to let us hold him.

This time he caming running out saying "Grandma!" and holding out his arms so I could pick him up!  We snuggled for a long old time!

He also says, "Grandad" now and wants Grandad to hold him, too!

Did we ever say we love being grandparents?

Before we went to Phoenix, we went to Mesa.  Picking Citrus!  A familiar sight!

We did initiatories at the Mesa Temple.

It is VERY different inside now after the remodeling!

This is an amaryllis plant that grew from the bulb Connie Nielsen gave us for Christmas!

Apple Spaghetti from the 101 Things to do With Apples.

We had Kim and Greg Hayes over for dinner.  We made a Peach Dump Cake from 101 Things to do With a Cake Mix.

Bacon Jalapeno Grits.

Steve, Angela, Micah and Erika gave me a  Marco Polo birthday greeting at 2:22 pm on  2-22-22!

Our Grandkids in January!

I think everybody and a dull, bleak month. We only got a few pictures of grandkids, because they didn't have much going on, either.  I just realized a few of the pictures sent to my phone didn't make it.  I will try to figure out what happened, then add them later.  I don't adapt well to change, like my nice new phone.  Once I get the hang of everything there, I will like it, I'm sure.

January 2022 - The New Year Begins!

We actually had a fairly quiet and not terribly eventful January, so this will be a shorter post.  Januarys are just kind of bleak and blah around here.

We had a pretty good snow while Steve and Angela were still here.  Steve went outside and shoveled A LOT of snow from the driveway.  I didn't even realize that was what he was doing.  He came in for a break, and I told him we have a snow blower.  Here he is finishing up the job!  It was great having our driveway cleared!
There was still a lot of snow on our first day back to school from Winter Break!  I really love my class this year!

We did a puzzle in cold, bleak January!

Our New Year's Resolution this year is to use all our 101 Uses for... recipe books, and make at least one recipe a week from a different book each week.  Our first one was from 101 Ways to use a Sheet Pan.  We forgot to take pictures of that one.  Here we have Fried Mozarella Sticks from the cheese volume.

The dad got this cast iron accessory set for Chritmas.  (He bought it and I gave it to him.)

This is broccoli soup from 101 Things to do with a Blender

Carleen's son, Danny, had a cook chicken feeder made of PVC pipe that we saw while we were visiting.  The dad made some for us!

I dont know if I wrote about our neighbor's dogs killing our chickens or not.  Well, they did, so our neighbor got us new chickens.  This is our first egg from our first chicken.  Sadly, I dropped it.  I picked it up off the floor and ate it anyway.  Clearly at least one of our chickens is at least part banty, because we get a nice, tiny banty egg every day.  Two of our full-sized chickens have started to lay now, too.

We made a burger with fried green chile on it.  We saw it on a segment about Rosewell on FoodTV.

It was good, but we really like regular green chile on our cheese burgers better.
