As always, General Conference Weekends are my favorite weekends of the year. This weekend was no exception. I feel renewed, rededicated, and reinvigorated. After each session, someone aptly commented, "That was a great session!" I'm looking forward to listening to the Priesthood session online in the next few days.
In addition to the joy we feel in listening to prophets, apostles, and other general authorities and leaders, I felt joy in having family around me. Brian and Chelsea were able to come over from Albuquerque to join us for the weekend. (And next weekend, we'll be with Steve and Angela. Life is good.)
Here are a few pictures of the weekend:
| Brian, Chelsea and Susan all colored pictures during the Saturday sessions. Brian colored superhero pictures, Susan colored Avenger pictures, and Chelsea (No surprises here!) colored Disney princess pictures. |
| After the dad sharpened all the knives (his traditional Conference activity), he made deviled eggs and potato salad for Sunday's dinner. |
| We put some ribs in the Sun Oven before Conference. Then after Conference, we slapped them on the grill with barbeque sauce. They were delicious! |
| The trick to making delicious ribs is that you have ti braise them long and slow for a few hours, and then finish them up on the grill with the barbeque sauce. These were done to perfection! |
| During the Priesthood Session, we women folk went shopping and bought new nail polish and painted our toenails. Susan's was called "Lavendar Marquee." Chelsea got "Scarab." Mine was "Brownstone." |
| After the Priesthood session, we put a turkey on to smoke for Sunday... |
| ...and here it is! |
| Dad made baby hats for the hospital during the Sunday sessions. |
| Here is Chelsea coloring a paisley design |
| Brian working on Batman. |
| Here I am quilting away. |
| I did the binding on this baby quilt during the first session. |
What a fun weekend! :D
