| The first of our new hens has started laying. We're not sure who the overachiever is just yet, but we think it's probably Puff, the white hen, because the eggs are white. Did we tell you that Einstein turned out to be the only rooster of the new bunch? Alas, poor Einstein. He's gone the way of the roosters. |

| The dad came to school on Halloween and helped the kids care the jack-o-lantern. The kids sure love that guy! So does the teacher! |

| The kids scraped out most of the goo. I got put on clean-up detail. Your dad is great at carving the pumpkins, but he hates gutting the thing. I don't mind the gutting, so it works out well. |
