David's and Peter's Visit to Grandma and Grandad's House!

 On our way home from American Fork, we stopped by Farmington and picked up David and Peter to come to our house for a few days.  We hoped to be able to have all the grandkids who were old enough for some time with just us, but the short summer this year just plain didn't let that happen.  I know I took more pictures than this, but this is all I could find.

When I was a kid and went to my grandparents' house, this Chinese Checker game is the thing that I played with the most.  (All their grandchildren did!)  My mom's family got this game for Christmas she was a small child, and it's been a family favorite since then.  This was my first choice of family heirlooms that I picked years ago, and Aunt Irene said it was mine!

The kids spent a lot of time playing curling.  David, especially, loved this one!

When the rest of the family came to pick the boys up, David and Peter couldn't get enough of their dad.  On a walk, he wound up carrying them both for awhile.

Brian and Chelsea helped us make our annual chile rellenos and chile rellenos burritos!

  They were going to help us peel the chile, but we wound up getting most of that done before they got here.

A Trip to American Fork!

 We hadn't been to American Fork for nearly two years because of COVID-19 restrictions.  We finally went to see Steve, Angela, Micah and Erika over Grandad's birthday weekend!  I have gotten out of the habit of taking many pictures since it is just the dad and me. I snagged about half of these pictures from Angela's blog.  I'm glad she's good at remembering to take pictures!

We started out the adventure by going to a Council of Governments luncheon in Grants.  The dad probably would have skipped this luncheon, but they changed the date to accommodate him.  As it turns out, he was a CoG Champion this year, and they wanted to recognize and honor him at the luncheon.  They gave him a beautiful Acoma pot that is now sitting on our piano.

We spent the night in Price on the way up so we wouldn't have to drive through the canyons in the dark and in the pouring rain.  We got up early and went on a walk in Price.  we found a couple of geocaches along the way!  This one was in a faux drain kind of like the one in front of our house.

We found this in a teeny-tiny hidden cemetery.

Delicious wings for dinner!

We got to American Fork on the dad's 61st birthday!  Steve made Buffalo Wings for dinner.  They were a hit all the way around!

Steve made the dad a German Chocolate cake using monk fruit sweetener instead of sugar for the whole diabetes thing.  The texture and taste came out different than with sugar, but it was still a great birthday cake.  (The next day, I put some in a mug and put milk on it, and Micah and Erika liked it so much that we had to make a second mugful so I could taste it!

We got all the bike tires fixed and ready to ride, so Angela, Doug and I took a practice ride while Steve was working, Micah was watching TV, and Erika was sleeping!

At Art Dye Park, we discovered blackberry bushes, so we picked and ate some!

That night, we bought dinner and took it over to Mary's.

We took our bikes up so we could go on a biking adventure.  We found some blackberry bushes in Art Dye park along the trail, so we stopped to pick some!

Susan is Engaged!

 It's official!  Susan and Christian are engaged!  We are very excited to welcome Christian into the family. They are going to be married on Nov. 5, and sealed in the Las Vegas Temple on Nov. 6.  We couldn't be happier for them!
