The Investiture!

The dad was sworn in last month as a District Court Judge in the Eleventh Judicial District in the State of NM.  However, his Investiture (Formal Swearing In Ceremony) was on the afternoon of July 5.  He picked that day because most of our family would be there still because of our Annual Independence Day Fooferah.  I didn't take many pictures, so I took these from Chelsea's and Angela's blogs.  Thanks for taking the pictures!

Waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Still waiting...

....and waiting...

...and waiting!

Doug was sworn into office by David Pederson.  (Notice he spells his last name the same way Amy and Cody spell theirs.)

Doug asked Brian to do the robing.

As soon as Grandad finished saying a few words, Calvin rushed over.  This was HIS grandad.

Notice the cute little fingerprints in the D?  Calvin!

Betsy Vigil made this whole delicious Charcuterie spread.  She even had a special Gluten Free section for Amy!

Off to the courtroom!

The dad didn't have his gavel yet at the Investiture.  But he has it now.  Here it is !

Checking out Grandad's new office.

What better way is there to end the day than a rousing game of "Button, Button!"
