National Days in March!

Well, three months into the year, and we've actually celebrated a National Day every day so far!  Here goes March.  (If we didn't do these National Days celebrations, I don't know if we'd even have anything to blog about!)

March 1 - National Peanut Butter Day.  The dad got this from the grocery store in D.C...

...and then he got this in his hotel room after he got back!

National Read Across America Day ( Dr. Seuss Day)  Usually this falls on March 2, Dr. Seuss' birthday.  When it falls on a weekend like this year, it goes to the nearest school day, which this year is March 1.

March 2 - Old Stuff Day.  The dad took this picture of the nameplate on Nancy Pelosi's office.
I've been decluttering.  I took all this old stuff to Goodwill.
March 3 - National Anthem Day.  The dad went to Francis Scott Key Park in Washington, D.C.  This is the man.

I think it is WAY cool that the dad was there on National Anthem Day!

It's also Soup it Forward Day.

The dad made soup in the kitchenette in his hotel room!

March 4 - Hug a GI Day.  I'm hugging the statue in front of the train station.

The dad took pictures at the Korean War Memorial...

...and the Vietnam War Memorial.

He couldn't hug them and take a selfie at the same time, though.

March 5 - National Cheese Doodle Day.  The dad got these on the plane, and is eating them at the airport.  I bought a small bag of Cheetoes and ate it.  I even took a picture of it, but I can't find it.

March 6 - National Frozen Food Day.  Food from the Schwan's guy.

Lo Mein and eggrolls.  They are actually really good!

It's also National Oreo Day.  The dad saved these from an attorney's affiliate meeting in D.C.

They were delicious!

March 7 - National Cereal Day, our regular oatmeal for breakfast.

March 8 - National Peanut Cluster Day, and...

National Tartar Sauce Day!

March 9 - We went to Phoenix to celebrate National Meatball Day with Amy, Cody...

...and Eli.  Eli liked the meatball sandwich!

Later that day, we had a picnic and celebrated National Crabmeat Day.  We were going to eat at the Angry Crab Shack for dinner, but we found that there would be a 90 minute wait.  We decided to go over to the Walmart in the same strip mall instead, where we bought crab cakes and crabmeat salad instead!

March 10 - National Return of Daylight Savings Time.  What a day to celebrate in Arizona!  It's also National Mario Day.  Eli is chewing on a Mario teether.

March 11 - National Johnny Appleseed Day.  Cody and Amy are eating Apple Crumble for Family Home Evening treats.

It's also National Napping Day.  Eli is napping with an apple to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day!

We went to Mesa from Phoenix and decided to celebrate National Napping Day with them!  I scared the bejeebers out of Papa when the flash went off while he was sleeping!

I didn't even know Doug snapped this one!

Chelsea and David even celebrated this one!

The dad celebrated in an easy chair.

It was also National Worship of Tools Day.  Papa and the dad are celebrating by fixing Papa's chainsaw.

March 12 - National Girl Scout Day.  We celebrated by teaching Papa and Carlene how to eat Thin Mints the correct way!

March 13 - National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day!
March 14 - National Potato Chip Day, and...
...National Pi Day.  We ate Schwan's frozen Turkey Pot Pies, ...

...and crustless Peach Pielets!

March 15 - Shoe the World Day.  These shoes are on their way to Goodwill.

March 16 - National Quilting Day...

...is the same day as National Corndog Day!

Talk about a great day!

March 17 - St. Patick's Day and National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day!  We invited Kimberly Hayes over for dinner.  She is one of my ministering sisters!

March 18 - National Sloppy Joe Day

March 19 - National Let's Laugh Day.

Nothing makes me laugh like Elephant Jokes!

March 20 - National Ravioli Day.  I ate frozen Ravioli for Dinner.

The dad had to go to Santa Fe for the night, so he had a can of Ravioli with a pop top to make it easier to heat and eat in his hotel room.
Also, Spring Begins today!

March 12 - National California Strawberry Day  AND National French Bread Day!

March 22 - National Goof Off Day.  We went to a park in Albuquerque to play.

We had a little goofy fun before our Temple Shift on Saturday.

March 23 - We got back from the temple on Saturday afternoon, and we celebrated national Chip and Dip Day by going to a wedding Open House for Lisa Amber and Josh Quimayousie.
March 24 - National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day.  We played dominoes for raisins instead of points.

March 25 - National Tolkein Reading Day.  We have Tolkein audiobooks, but it's National Tolkein READING Day.  The dad wanted to watch The Lord of the Rings and he could read the subtitles.  I put a nix on that.  We just read a few Tolkein Quotes online.  That was enough for me.  Tolkein is highl overrated.

March 26 - National Spinach Day - I made Spinach Dip to eat with dinner.

National Spanish Paella Day was March 27!

National Something on a Stick Day!

Root Beer bars on a stick for dessert!
March 29 - National Vietnam War Veterans Day - We went to the War Memorial down by the Courthouse to celebrate.

March 30 - National Take a Walk in the Park Day - We walked down to the park, and took a walk in it!

March 31 - National Crayon Day.

We drew out our garden plots for this year so we could decide where we want to plant each vegetable this year.

It's also National Bunsen Burner Day.  We do't have any bunsen burners to celebrate with, but we did make Buddy Burners.  We are lighting them and putting them under our blossoming apricot tree which started popping today.  We are hoping it will provide just enough heat to keep the blossoms from freezing!

And tomorrow a new month begins!
