Well, two months in to 2019, and we're still going strong on our observances of at least one National Day of Something every day of this year! Here's how we did this month!
| February 1 - National Wear Red Day! |
| Feb. 2 - National Groundhog Day - We celebrated by eating ground hog brats with homemade sauerkraut! |
| Feb. 3 - National Day the Music Died Day - We are all listening... |
| ...to American Pie! |
| It's also National Carrot Cake Day. The dad is eating cake with a carrot stuck in it. |
| Feb. 4 - National Homemade Soup Day |
| Feb. 5 - National Nutella Day. |
| It is also National Shower with a Friend Day. You only get pictures of the Nutella! |
| Feb. 6 - National Frozen Yogurt Day - I went to Albertson's to buy frozen yogurt, and THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY FROZEN YOGURT AT ALL! I bought Gogurts and put them in the freezer instead. |
| Chelsea, Brian and Peter celebrated, too! |
| It was also Girls and Women in Sports Day. Here's how we celebrated. |
| "There's no crying in baseball!" |
| Feb. 7 - National Fettuccine Alfredo Day |
| Feb. 8 - National Boy Scouts Day. We didn't remember to celebrate this one until after we were showered and in our pajamas. Hence, the hair style. The dad was already in bed, and he took the picture while he was laying in bed! |
| Feb. 9 - National Bagel Day. We were going to buy bagels to celebrate, but we couldn't find any whole grain bagels... |
| ...so we decided to make our own! |
| They were delicious! |
| Feb. 10 - National Cream Cheese Brownie Day - I made two brownies with Thrive Brownie mix, and I plopped bits of cream cheese into the batter. |
| Feb. 11 - National Peppermint Patty Day! |
| Feb. 12 - National Plum Pudding - This was the only National Day listed. We couldn't find any plum pudding around this time of the year (It's a Christmas Dessert), so I ordered some ahead of time from amazon.com. It is like a very nasty mincemeat bread pudding. |
| It was $7 for this little bowl of yuck. |
| Feb. 13 - National Tortellini Day - We made Tortellini Soup! |
| Feb. 14 - National Valentine's Day... |
| ...and National Cream-filled Chocolates Day |
| Feb. 15 - National Singles Awareness Day |
| Feb. 16 - National Do a Grouch a Favor Day - David and Peter are coloring a picture for Grandad! |
| While we were in Farmington, Chelsea had her "Broadway for Brunch" concert. The singers had to seat and serve the guests. Chelsea had to seat a total grouch! She celebrated the day without even trying! |
| Feb. 17 - National Cabbage Day |
| This is our current favorite way to eat cabbage! |
| February 18 - National Presidents Day |
| February 19 - National Chocolate Mint Day |
| I love eating Thin Mints this way! |
| Feb. 20 - National Cherry Pie Day |
| Feb. 21 - National Hug Your Pet Day - It's snowy outside. There's no way I was going to go hug wet, muddy chickens. The turtles are still hibernating, so I didn't really want to pull them out of hibernation for a picture, so we had a stand in for the photo! |
| Feb. 22 - National Cook a Sweet Potato Day - The dad made me a tasty delicious sweet potato skillet for my birthday breakfast! |
| It's a great way to start a birthday, and a great way to eat a sweet potato! |
| We also ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse for my birthday, and to celebrate National Skip the Straw Day! |
| Feb. 23 - National Tile Day |
| Here we are touching the Texas Pearl Tile at the Temple! |
| We also had lunch with Carol and Mark at 5-Star Burgers in Albuquerque. Look at the lovely tile floor. What a celebration! |
| Feb. 24 - National Tortilla Chip Day |
| Feb. 26 - National Clam Chowder Day! |
| It is also National Chocolate Covered Nuts Day! |
| On Feb. 26, we celebrated National Tell a Fairy Tale Day... |
| ...and National Pistachio Day! |
| Brian's Teddy Bear helped us celebrate National Polar Bear Day on Feb. 27. |
| It's the last day of February. The dad is celebrating National Public Sleeping Day at the airport. He's traveling to Washington, D.C. today! |
We are having lots of fun having something to celebrate every day! We can hardly wait to see what March will bring!
I busted up laughing on Feb 5 and 15. Don't forget the grump I served!
ReplyDeleteI just went back in and added your grouch adventure to the list!
DeleteThis is so fun. Steve says that's Brian's bear, though. I, like Susan, also enjoyed the shower/Nutella, singles', and grouch days.
ReplyDeleteSteve is right. That is Brian's bear. I fixed that in the post.
