Bill and Jennifer Lee invited the dad and I to go and participate in the Bluff, UT International Balloon Festival with them. We would fly one day, and be part of the crew the next day. Sounded like fun to us, so we were in for the weekend! As it turns out, the weather wasn't cooperative, so the balloons didn't even get to go up on Friday or Saturday. We went home Saturday afternoon, so we could go to our meetings. The balloons were able to fly that day, but we missed it. We didn't care. We had a nice weekend together and with friends. There's always next year. (Bill and Jennifer have already invited us!)

| Bill invited us to go to Bluff a couple of months before the Balloon Rally. We decided to book a room right away in case rooms went fast. Well, good thing we did. When we booked a room, there was only one room left in town. It was here at the Mokee Motel--right out of the fifties! |
| Home for the next three days! |
| This is our room. It was clean--no phone, no clock, but clean. |
| When the first lift-off was cancelled, we drove up to Monticello and went to the temple. We were planning on going there anyway. This just made it easier. Notice all the snow! |
We went to Bluff Fort. We went there a couple of summers ago with Brian, Chelsea and Susan . It was a fun trip! This was nice, but snowy and cold. |

| The picture on the top right corner is Zechariah Bruyn Decker, Jr. |
| This is the lot where the balloons didn't lift off! |
| We went on a hike to Sandy Island on the San Juan River. |
| There were petroglyphs on the rocks in one area. |
| I love crushing white ice! |
| See all the ice floating in the river? |
| We went back to Bluff Fort the next day without Bill and Ted. This time we dressed up and took some pictures! |
| In the Relief Society Craft Center, some women were making rugs on rug looms. I thought it looked pretty cool, so I had the dad ty it out. He bought me a loom, and now he's going to make me a rag rug! |
| They also have little looms to make potholders or placemats! |
Our adventure didn't turn out the way we had planned. Much of life doesn't turn out the way we plan. But life, and our adventure, is great!
